“i’m as human as anyone. i screw up all the time, that is being human. and that is my greatest strength.”ππα―★
james gunn has done it. he has achieved what many thought was impossible. he has revitalized superman, making the character feel both fresh and timeless, and entirely vibrant simultaneously, marking it as the standout cinematic achievement of the summer. what a brilliant & delightful film. i felt like i was watching a comic come to life. the entire cast was remarkable, they delivered an outstanding performance. i loved the cinematography and the music as well. while the is not without its flaws, and i can concur the the special effects could use some refinement, but the message is undeniable: superman embodies hope. he symbolizes a future for humanity, one in which we can all strive to be better versions of ourselves. our past mistakes do not dictate our future or our identity. we make mistakes, but we gain wisdom, which ultimatley is what brings us closer to being like superman. the performance of nicholas hoult’s villainism was unlike anything i’ve seen since jane lynch as sue sylvester. and cat grant is so megan fox in teenage mutant ninja turtles. the film effectively shines just the right amount of light on the supporting characters while maintaining a focus on the core narrative and superman’s character, all without reiterating the same origin story scenes been depicted countless times before. james gunn effectively achieves his goal. to reimagine the man of steel while laying the foundation for a fully embraced, coherent, vibrant, and profoundly human dc universe. without making drastic changes to the genre, he inspires his film with a true sense of character, avoiding the common cynicism and excessively polished techniques. with the support of a robust cast, a fitting tone and innovative direction, this iteration of superman has the capacity to bring together long-time fans and draw in a new audience. james gunn revitalizes superman, marking a refreshing shift. there has never been a better time for a superman film, an immigrant refugee hero who, in his early adventures, faced corrupt politicans and tycoons as often as he battled super-powered villians.
